The level walk along the esplanade to Cowes beach is perfect for those with mobility restrictions, the elderly or those with pushchairs. There is also easy access to the shingle shoreline.
Between Cowes and Gurnard, there are several cafés, restaurants as well as toilet facilities. Visitors to the beach should note that the water at Cowes beach is not considered safe for bathing unless you are a VERY strong swimmer, because of the strong tides and currents within the Solent.
