Situated within the heart of the vibrant yachting town of Cowes on the Isle of Wight, The Anchor Inn is a favourite with locals and visitors.
Located within the centre of town opposite Cowes Yacht Haven and just a short stroll from the Red Jet ferry terminal, which provides regular crossings to and from mainland England. The Anchor is an ideal place to relax in a warm, friendly atmosphere.
A public house has stood on the site for over 300 years. In 1704, the Debourne Estate leased some land on which The Anchor now stands. It became known as the ‘House of the Three Trumpeters’ and soon became the principal coaching inn of Cowes. Sometime during the 1820s, the name changed to ‘The Anchor Inn’, which it has been known ever since.
