Local Producers

The land is alive with activity throughout the year as farmers tend to their fields, and if you’re up early, you’ll spot plenty of fishing boats sustainably fishing in the waters off the coast. The Isle of Wight has a great variety of local producers.

The Isle of Wight is famous for its seafood, with over 60 miles of fishable coastline. Crab, lobster, prawns, bass, plaice, dover sole and skate are seasonally and sustainably available. The Best Dressed Crab in Bembridge is a floating cafe that specialises in serving the morning catch from a dedicated husband and wife team. Visit Captain Stan’s in Bembridge and Ventnor Haven Fishery for the freshest seafood, where much has been landed that very morning.

If you want to be cooked for, the pubs and restaurants around the Island also support the use of local produce, by using as many locally sourced items as possible, you can eat out with peace of mind that you’re supporting food metres, not miles.
