Our what’s on guide is updated throughout the year, bringing you events to suit all ages and interests across the Isle of Wight. Annual favourites include the Isle of Wight Festival and Cowes Week, the famous Round the Island Yacht Race, Walk the Wight and of course the Garlic Festival.

Every month brings countless opportunities to enjoy live music at venues across the Island, from pubs like The Spyglass Inn to The Wight Proms and Jack Up Events. Wightlink Isle of Wight International Chess Tournament

This spring, the Isle of Wight will once again host elite chess players from across the globe in a seven-day, nine-round tournament at Ryde School, which also features a weekend Congress and multiple side events. The tournament is open to all players with a FIDE Classical rating of 1,600+, and a strong field is expected once again, with several Grandmasters already confirmed, and FIDE norm opportunities available.
