The first room at The Gallery Classic Boat Museum celebrates the Isle of Wight’s natural beauty and its central role in Britain’s maritime history.

Displays include a striking reproduction of the 1545 Cowdray engraving showing the sinking of the Mary Rose.

The main exhibition features maritime artefacts with Colliwobble as the centrepiece, alongside Thomas Rowlandson’s rare 18th-century drawings of Island life, on loan from the Isle of Wight Heritage Service.
