With the spooky season upon us, the Isle of Wight is gearing up for a tonne of eerie events to get stuck into this Halloween 2024! Here we’re going to take a look at the events catered towards more grownup ghouls.

Arreton Manor Party

Arreton Manor, supposedly the most haunted building on the Island, is hosting a scary soiree on 28 October. Those who dare to enter its grounds can expect to come face to face with a variety of strange and scary characters lurking in the manor’s corridors and dark corners. A delightful selection of monstrous melodies will be sure to keep you dancing until the early hours, with plenty of bars onsite to keep guests’ thirsts quenched.

You can purchase tickets for the Arreton Manor Halloween Party from their website here.

Isle of Wight Ghost Experience – Walks with Mark Tucker

With the Isle of Wight being renowned as one of the most haunted spots in the UK amongst paranormal experts, it’s no surprise that guided ghost walks are such a popular Halloween pass-time, with arguably the most well-known operator being The Isle of Wight Ghost Experience.

They’re running a tour at a variety of the Island’s most notorious haunted hotspots throughout October, such as Ventnor Botanic Garden and Arreton Barns, where guests will hear a mixture of eerie tales and fascinating facts about each of the respective sites from Marc himself. Be sure to keep your eyes peeled for any ghostly apparitions or activity.

You can view all of the tour dates and secure your tickets here.

Ghostly Tales at Carisbrooke Castle

At this special 16+, explore the Island’s oldest landmark, Carisbrooke Castle, in a new light (and by that, we mean in the pitch black)! Join storytellers for a guided tour around the castle and its grounds, listening to terrifyingly true tales of murder, betrayal and death that make up the castle’s disturbingly dark past. Guests who dare to attend should also keep their eyes peeled for the grey lady, who is rumoured to wander through the grounds with a pack of her loyal hounds.

Visitors will need to bring their own torch (and their courage), and tickets can be purchased here.

Thrillseekers look no further! Blackgang Chine’s annual Fiesta of the Dead returns for another year, for 5 days of Mexican-themed fun! Visitors can step into the Land of the Dead, where there’s tonnes of themed entertainment to get stuck into. Thrillseekers can ride the 360-degree pendulum swing, Extinction, in the pitch black, whilst those looking for a slightly more chilled evening dance to the terrifying tunes of their onsite DJ and immerse themselves in the intricately decorated park, with tonnes of giant inflatables and tonnes of Mexican flair.

Tickets can be purchased in advance from their website here.

Whatever you decide to get up to on the Isle of Wight this Halloween 2024, we hope you have a frightfully fantastic time!
