For those seasonal Isle of Wight attractions, the February half-term signifies the start of the season.
After 11 years Robin Hill will celebrate the Chinese New Year for the final time this February!
Spirit of the Orient is a dazzling display of light and colour as the park is transformed from the 11th – 18th February. Visitors can stroll through the illuminated ancient woodland and experience an impressive display of lighting exhibits and Chinese lanterns. Buried deep beneath shoots of bamboo, Robin Hill’s resident panda duo, Blossom and Ping, will star in their brand-new show, Panda-monium. The fan-favourite pair will need your help solving the mystery of the stolen ‘Heart of a Panda’ diamond. This cheeky show is guaranteed to have the whole family rolling around with laughter.
The celebration will also include a dazzling Chinese Lion performance, featuring a powerful dance choreographed to a unique soundscape. In China, lions are said to symbolise strength, stability and superiority.
The spectacle will conclude with a 12-foot dragon procession creating an electric atmosphere throughout the park. Head down to the park’s Woodland Ponds, where you can soak in the sights and smells of a delicious selection of Chinese-inspired cuisine guaranteed to get your taste buds tingling. Absorb the beauty of the park’s grand marble arch before getting cost by the open fires with a giant marshmallow for toasting in hand. Make sure to tie your hopes and dreams onto the branches of the Wishing Tree to welcome good fortune for the new year.
