Before you know it Christmas will be over and we will be heading towards the end of the year. Whether you go out or stay in it’s sometimes tricky to find things to do on New Year’s Eve on the Isle of Wight. So we have decided to take the stress out of hunting around for what’s on and what’s not and come up with a few ideas of what to do to see out 2022.
The Dairyman’s Daughter, Hogmanay – Arreton
In the heart of Arreton, set back from the side of the road and tucked away in the craft village of Arreton Barns is The Dairyman’s Daughter. A traditional country pub serving up delicious home-cooked food, and a great selection of drinks (including some local brews and tipples) all with a warm and friendly welcome. Moving away from their traditional New Year’s Barn Dance this year the pub is holding Hogmanay. This ticket only event is just £35 per person and includes a three course meal, live music from the amazing Wight Hot Pipes as well as a bacon roll and drink to toast in the new year. The White Horse Inn – Whitwell
Set in the small village of Whitwell is The White Horse Inn pub. Known for live, local music this year they have Groove Union playing on New Year’s Eve. The party kicks off at 7pm and entry to the pub is strictly by ticket only. You’ll be sampling a five course taster menu, with an optional wine flight.

The George Hotel – Yarmouth
See in the New Year with Style at The George Hotel. Located by the water’s edge in the quaint market town of Yarmouth, this year they are seeing in the New Year with a Studio 54 style DISCO party. The evening festivities will start with a Champagne reception in the main entrance hall, followed by a four-course sit-down dinner. The evening’s entertainment will start once dinner has finished so strap on those dancing shoes as the DJ will be playing all of the DISCO classics plus more.
