Peach, Newport

A firm favourite in the centre of Newport you will find Peach, a 100% plant based cafe and zero waste kitchen. Serving up delicious vegan meals through breakfast to a late lunch, even the most devout carnivore will be floored with the amount of amazing flavours that come from the 100% plant based dishes. The garlic mushrooms on toast at breakfast are a firm winner and the vegan hot ‘not’ dog is so good you will forget it has zero meat. As a zero waste company, if you would like a takeaway, don’t forget to bring a container with you.

Coffee lovers will love a smooth cuppa made using your choice of ‘milk’ and pair it with a homemade brownie and you’ll smile knowing you’re doing your bit for the planet while you refuel.

The Bargeman’s Rest, Newport

When you think of a proper old British pub the first thing that comes to mind is not always an exceptional vegetarian and vegan offering. The Bargeman’s Rest is set on the side of the River Medina in Newport and is how a ‘proper pub’ should be. Nautical memorabilia adorning the walls, plenty of local ales and cosy nooks to sit in. The vast menu has a dedicated tasty vegetarian offering, and the specials board usually has a couple of options too. This is the pub for you and for your whole party (so if your friends don’t want to go veggie for the day they’ll be happy too).

A quaint village pub, The White Lion, is set in the Island’s most southerly village, Niton and serves up an AA rosette award-winning menu.

Fine dining meets top quality pub food. Using some of the Island’s finest produce ingredients, the menu follows a seasonal theme so it changes on a fairly regular basis

The pub also has a few vegan wines and beers on offer too, just ask at the bar what’s available on the day. Due to its rural location it is perfect for walking off a hearty lunch or dinner with strolls around the countryside or the popular coastal walk.
